Managing Lines

Configure line behavior, set defaults, edit tags, and automate message assignments.

The Lines view in your WhatSnap dashboard is where you control the identity and behavior of each connected device — from default routing to tag-based message assignment.

Before you start

Setting a Default Line

Your default line handles all manual messages sent from GHL unless a switch command or workflow override is active.

To set it, click the three dots next to any line and select Set as Default.

Set default line action

Only one line can be default at a time. If you have multiple lines, use tag-based routing to control which line sends to each contact.

Editing Line Tags

Each line is identified by a unique tag (e.g., executive1, sales-rep-2). Tags drive WhatSnap's routing logic — if a contact has the tag p2p-account-executive1, all messages to that contact route through that line.

To rename a tag, click the three dots next to the line and select Edit Tag.

Edit line tag

Use descriptive tag names like sales-mark or support-main. This makes line switching and workflow configuration much easier.

Configuring Automatic Assignment

The Assignment option lets you automatically assign inbound messages from a specific line to a designated GHL team member. WhatSnap fetches your team list from GoHighLevel, so you can select the correct operator for each line.

Click the three dots next to a line and select Assignment to configure.

Common Questions

How many lines can I add to a single subaccount?

You can allocate as many lines as you have available in your resource pool. See Allocating Lines and Subaccounts for how to manage your inventory.

What happens if I de-allocate a line mid-conversation?

Active conversations continue on the line they started on, but new outbound messages route through your default line. Complete active campaigns before reallocating resources.

How do I get more lines?

Purchase additional lines from your billing settings. See Purchasing Additional Resources for step-by-step instructions and pricing.
